Russian petrochemicals group Lukoil (Moscow; www.lukoil.com) is planning to build a polypropylene plant at its Bulgarian production site in Burgas. The company has acquired a “Novolen” license for a PP line with a production capacity of 280,000 t/y for its local subsidiary Lukoil Neftohim Burgas, according to US technology supplier Lummus (The Woodlands, Texas; www.lummustechnology.com). The contract also includes the technical design planning of the plant, training and services as well as a supply deal for catalysts, including metallocene types.
