17 NOV - Sasol’s new US LDPE unit achieves beneficial production

Sasol’s new LDPE plant located in Lake Charles, Louisiana finally achieved beneficial operation on November 15, 2020, the South African company has announced in a press release.

Start-up process at the 420,000 tons/year LDPE plant was initially halted due to a fire that broke out back in January 2020. The commissioning of the unit was delayed several times over the last 2 years amid challenges in the restoration process and hurricane season in the US.

The company added that all units have returned to operation following Hurricane Zeta.
