The manufacturer of packaging films Schur Flexibles (Wiener Neudorf / Austria, www.schurflexibles.com) completely takes over Scandiflex Pac AB (Landskrona / Sweden). Scandiflex produces flexible packaging for the food industry and is a specialist for flexo and digital printing.
The company, headquartered in Landskrona in the southern Swedish province of Scania, has recently generated sales of just under EUR 20 million. With the acquisition, it is renamed Schur Flexibles Scandiflex and complements Schur's Scandinavian presence, which already includes the subsidiaries Schur Flexibles Denmark, Schur Flexibles Finland and Danapak Flexibles.
In particular, Scandiflex brings expertise in flexographic and digital printing, but also in the production of packaging for meat, fish and dairy products, dry food and coffee, as well as frozen and frozen foods. Schur Flexibles recognizes synergies in research and development as well as in printed and transparent films and laminates.
With the acquisition, Schur Flexibles generates a total of EUR 120 million in sales per year in Scandinavia. The total turnover of the group was most recently EUR 520 million (pro forma), which was generated by 1,750 employees in 15 subsidiaries.
Takeover from the competitor and reorganization of the Management Board
The group took over its competitor UNI Packaging (Averdoingt / France, www.schurflexibles.fr, see KIWeb on 26.04.2018) only in the spring of 2018, thus strengthening its position in the fast-growing packaging market for cheese and milk products as well as in the fields Fresh and convenience products.
